This is a an advertisement design advocating for recycling. It caught my eye because it is very much like the design I am doing for my Buzz cover re-design using different foods to spell out letters.

This is an a dfrom a design magazine that advertises printing services. The design style is contemporary, but reminiscent of the swiss style. I think the color choice isn't very good though because the red and yellow reminds me of fast food advertisement.

I really enjoy this logo because it is really simple but still really creative. The "12" also forms an "n", The "L" doubles as a 2, and the "o" also doubles as a "zero". Brilliant!

I chose to post this piece because it is related to this weeks homework. Emphasis is put on the word SMILE by making the type larger than the related text and also by changing the color.

Woman Made of Type

I chose this image because it reminded me of the exercise we did in class where we made faces out of type. It's really interesting how far you can go with only using type. It's almost all you really need!

Korea Poster

This image is from a poster series done by the designer Dan Reisinger. It is communicating the fact that North and South Korea are separated and was done as part of a campaign for world peace and unification. When I tried to look up the font on a font finder site, it came up with FF DAX, but I don't think that it was quite right. The style of the font is a sans-serif, and is probably a display font. The designer achieved an intellectual unity in this design by using a globe as the "O", and then segmenting it with a tear that signifies the separation of the two Korean countries.

Zapf Chancery

ITC Zapf Chancery was created by German type designer Hermann Zapf in 1979, and is among about thirty fonts created by Zapf. This font is an elegant and highly legible script font that has been widely used and very popular for design in invitations, diplomas, awards, greeting cards, etc. The reason for it' s popularity is due to its high legibility amongst other very ornate and complicated script fonts.

GRAFFITI SHOWCASE

This is the title from an article I found in a magazine called STREET ART: GRAFFITI IN THE DIGITAL AGE. I believe it is Lubalin Graph, but it might also be Memphis, which are called slab serif fonts. This is the main font used for titles throughout the magazine and is used with many different colors, but the bold style is constant and the spacing and kerning seems to always be the same as well. The reason I chose this specific title from the magazine is because I like the spacing relationship between the "a f f i t i", and because the magazine concentrates on graffiti, it seemed suiting.
